Annette Dawson Owens

Annette Dawson Owens works as an education advocate and believes in equity and access to an excellent education for all students. She has worked in district and charter schools over the last 25 years.

Annette is a native Nevadan, attended Gordon McCaw Elementary School, Burkholder Junior High School and Basic High School. She graduated with an undergraduate degree in Zoology and earned a Masters in Education from UNLV as well as a Masters in Administration from Sierra Nevada College. Annette recently completed the Education Leadership Administration Certificate from Georgetown University through the Public Education Foundation’s Executive Leadership Academy.

Annette serves on a Title 1 Committee, the My Brother’s Keeper Education Equity Committee, School Organization Teams, Henderson’s Community Education Advisory Board, the Boy Scouts of America as family coordinator, and on a local school board.

Annette looks forward to working together with our community to improve educational outcomes for all students in the great state of Nevada.
