Caleen Johnson

A professional fundraising executive for over 35 years, Caleen has raised more than $40 million for nonprofit and educational institutions around the country, working in all aspects of the profession in partnership with volunteer leadership and staff colleagues. In Nevada, Caleen has served as the executive director of Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada and has had the privilege of working for the American Cancer Society; UNLV’s Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering; and The Nature Conservancy. She is currently the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for the UNLV Foundation, where she leads the team responsible for securing funding for UNLV from private foundations and corporations around the country.

Caleen received her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential in 2003, and holds a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from UNLV and United Way. A board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Southern Nevada Chapter, she has served as its president, and was named Fundraising Executive of the Year in 2006. She received their Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. She has volunteered for a large variety of organizations in Nevada and elsewhere. Caleen holds an M.A. in English from George Mason University and a B.A. in English from the College of William and Mary.
