Emily Paulsen has served as the Executive Director of the Nevada Homeless Alliance (NHA) since 2016. She believes housing is a human right and is dedicated to building a community where everyone has a safe place to call home. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from San Jose State University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from UNLV. Over the span of her career she has worked on the front lines as a service provider as well as a system-leader with expertise in evidenced-based interventions, program development, and policy. In her current role at the Nevada Homeless Alliance, she serves Southern Nevada as a homeless system innovator, trainer, advocate, collaboration builder, and voice for the homeless. She is a lifelong learner, but steadfast in the knowledge that an end to homelessness is not only possible but the ultimate purpose of her work.
